Rallycross: No threepeat for Tanner as Bakkerud takes Britain; meanwhile, I'm taking this on the road :^D
Andreas Bakkerud just missed taking maximum points at Lydden Hill in leading the FIA Rallycross field at the intermediate, finishing behind Toomas Heikkinen in the semifinal heat, then pulling off the win on the last lap as Robin Larsson waited until the very last lap to take his joker lap, finishing just a half-second behind Bakkerud. The winner at Montalegre, Petter Solberg, was involved in a tangle with Tanner Foust in the final, and both finished at the back, snapping Foust’s streak at Lydden Hill and pushing Solberg down to second in points behind Bakkerud.
After a little bit of numbercrunching--since this is only something I was going to do if I was going to be able to do it more than once--I will be on-site covering the East Coast swing of the Red Bull Global Rallycross series. That's the Washington, New York, Charlotte, and Detroit rounds in which I'll be scooting my ramshackle old Saturn to provide my high-quality wordsmithing. Also, I might have some guest spots in related media, which of course I'll drop a link for when it goes up :^)
This explains last night's post--the trips are easier if I have places to crash, because of course I'm a nice houseguest and won't eat you out of house and home over the weekend ;^)
