Like just look at TFP. Seriously, the second season was legit just the Unicron Trilogy condensed into less than thirty episodes, and don't even talk to me about the Omega Lock and Keys being a "NEW AND UNIQUE CONCEPT" son those were the MacGuffins of all of Cybertron do not test this theory because your tests will fail.

IDW Writers and Artists? All grew up on Beast Wars and the Trilogy and love it and draw inspiration from it. Fuck off.

He was built for war, he served Megatron loyally, and it was only when he was shown kindness by others that he started questioning things (I mean yeah he did before, like let's not forget him whining about Megs getting the Star Saber instead of him), but he had genuine compassion for others, and no matter what he did to convince Megs that they NEEDED to align themselves with the Autobots, big boss wouldn't listen, so he SHOWED him that this was what needed to be done. And even then, all of his sacrifices were made in vain, as we see in Energon, which fuck all y'all it's sad as hell and disturbing as fuck why aren't y'all watching this.

"WAH WAH THE ANIMATION IS BAD" It's from the early 2000's and was using new technology to try and blend animation styles, and by the end of Energon? They got that shit pounded out and it actually looked pretty damn spectacular. Armada, holy crap it looks terrible for the most part, but does that really matter??? The character designs were unique and you could actually tell who was who without everyone being a rainbow or having different colors. Sure it's dated, but so is fucking everything else by now. Piss off.

Energon introduced A LOT of concepts we had never heard before, it expanded upon Aurex before the war, solidified that Cybertronians were forged in that universe, confirmed to us that mecha like Optimus and Megatron didn't exist before the war, that there were different races of Cybertronians, that the factions had existed since the beginning of fucking time, even if no one remembers why. The Decepticons had majority on Cybertron, and it was only because a small militia WITHIN the Autobots that we had ten million years of war. That didn't even start until Unicron started chillin' out next to Cybertron and Primus lost power. 

AND DON'T EVEN GET ME STARTED ON THE ACTUAL MURDER AND POSSESSION AND POLITICAL UNREST THAT GOES ON IN ENERGON. It's so friggin dark and terrifying when you actually think about what everyone did just holy shit it freaks me out but Energon is legitimately my favorite part of the Trilogy.

There's so much incredible lore within the trilogy and it only takes a bit of digging and creative thinking to realize how much influence it has had on the series itself and if you can't figure that out then just get the hell out of my face I have no time for you.
