Sounds promising, right? The idea of robotic vacuum cleaners doing all the work while you get to sit with your feet up watching TV. It all sounds exceedingly promising.
Unfortunately, ten years since the concept first came onto the market, the technology still isn’t sufficient for most households to make that investment.
For one thing, the small droids don’t have that much cleaning power and only have little storage in their bodies, so don’t expect that they’ll be able to clean thoroughly.
For another, while they will whiz around on your carpeting sucking all that dirt and dust, you may need to step in more than a few times to rescue them from where they got stuck at the table legs.
The techs are working on it, though. We’re excited to see how developments in this area work out in the next couple of years.
