It was obvious that the engineering genius was nervous, no matter the fact that Tony hid his slightly shaking hands in the pockets of his favorite pair of jeans.
"Soooo..." the dark-eyed man began, offering Clint a slightly lopsided smile. "Christmas has always been crap for the both of us, you know? And I wasn't really looking forward to this year's, either. Or I wasn't, until I ended up getting you for the S.H.I.E.L.D. Secret Santa. And I thought... well, why not make this Christmas different--for both of us. So wanna come over and claim your last present?"
The question was asked as Tony lifted up a small wooden ring box, a sort of challenge in his gaze even as the nervousness settled deeper in his belly.
[[ OH MY GOD. DO YOU HAVE ANY IDEA JUST HOW HARD IT WAS TO KEEP THIS SECRET FROM YOU???? *collapses on* Anyway. SURPRISE!! :D <333333 ...I also have a mun-to-mun Secret Santa gift for you, but I'll probably have to give it to you closer to Christmas (...maybe) because I'm not done. *coughs* Knitting at the speed that I reply~! ]]
Blue eyes met the genius' in curiosity, wondering why he'd been rambling on about Christmas. The both of them seemed to be on the same page with the idea that Christmas wasn't all that it was cracked up to be. Neither one of them really ever had any sort of reason to enjoy the holidays.
The moment the words "S.H.I.E.L.D. Secret Santa" came out of his mouth though was a completely different story, and things started to slide into place.
Clint didn't know how to finish his thoughts, didn't know what to even say, and when he saw Tony pull out a ring box, that was when he knew that this wasn't some joke.
Without any sort of hesitation, the archer made his way towards the genius and tugged him towards him, pressing their bodies flush together.
"You fucker," he muttered against his lips, fingers threading with the other's as he pulled him into a heated kiss, ignoring the way the box pressed into his calloused palm.
