PRINCE OF TENNIS SURE IS GOO~~D!! IT’S MY EVERYTHI~~NG!!!

MY 12 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 700:

I just realized today that for once Tae-chan was joining in on the fight, totally showing what a badass she is, and Kondou was around to see it, and yet they didn’t have even one panel together. [sigh] I am sadness. 

1) This extended family. Love them so much!

2) Bless Robozaki! He’s become such a good, wise and cool adult robot!

3) I will never not love Gin-chan’s dead serious, kill-you-on-the-spot looks.

4) Zura bouncing off the walls during his free fall to defeat his enemy was so damn cool. 

5) Seriously I can’t wait for all these fights to be animated. I hope they don’t skimp on the budget for them. 

6) It’s the same image as before but it still makes my heart hurt a little, though at the same time, I’m glad that spiritually, all of Shouyou’s students are together again.

7) Ugh, my heart. So proud of these boys. They’ve come so far. Shouyou would be so proud.

8) “...thank you.” I started crying. It was so beautiful and touching but at the same time, it made me so sad because I don’t want it to be the last time! I don’t want them to have the last time of anything. They can insult each other and still help each other and thank each other. The finality of Sougo and Shinpachi’s words really hurt me. I can’t stop thinking about them and worrying about them.

9) I didn’t really think Takasugi would die just like that since he still needs to see Matako and Henpeita one last time first, but Sorachi-sama sure did a good job trying to convince me.

10) Tears again: those desperate looks on their faces aimed straight for my heart.

11) “I always could.” Crying forever

12) PUPPY TO THE RESCUE!!!! I CAN’T WAIT!!!!! In five weeks...gods that’s gonna feel like five years....

SHIPS TALLY:

Gintoki x Takasugi: I was seriously getting a little jelly of all the love going on between these two. But, they earned it, they went back much farther so, they deserve it.

Okita x Kagura: I’m just so glad they were in next to each other for that short time and Kagura was even finishing Sougo’s sentence (see #8). I grateful for whatever small moment I can get of them.  

Kondou x Hijikata: they had this odd moment where they just exchanged looks, like they didn’t even need words to understand what the other person was thinking.

Disclaimer: Gintama is not only about shipping. Gintama is hilarious, clever, exciting, poignant, heart-breaking, loving, brilliant, and just completely unbelievably amazing.  It is only due to Sorachi-sama’s immense generosity that I am able enjoy Gintama on an extra another level, the shippy level, and I am forever grateful for that. GINTAMA IS LIFE AND LOVE.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 684

MY 17 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 684:

1) Tae-chan was pretty much checking out their packages, especially Yamazaki’s mosaic.

2) Takasugi obviously got infected by Gintoki’s dork virus.

3) Or maybe Takasugi was always a dork, even in his evil villain phase. Either way, Hijikata’s indignant reaction was hilarious.

4) I really want to know who Yamazaki was reacting to in order to be able to keep his Tower of Babel up. Hopefully it was Tae-chan.

5) Good to know that Tae-chan hadn’t lost her violent edge in the two years.

6) She is so brutal. I love her. But poor Yamazaki. Ouch. Thank the gods he’s Robozaki now.

7) He got his penis pummeled and his head ripped off, of course he couldn’t stay as Yama or Robozaki anymore. I didn’t understand the Colonel thing at first but now I have since been educated that apparently KFC is beloved in Japan. I’m guessing it’s probably because they make it better there...they seriously make everything better there. 

8) And suddenly I wondered if Tae-chan is actually a GinHiji shipper herself.

9) Omg she is seriously BRUTAL. And of course by this point I had to think Tae-chan must have seen through their disguise. I mean, otherwise that would just be randomly sadistic.

10) I actually thought that was rather clever of Otae to turn their dojo into a weight loss center. Of course she was totally scamming her students since she made sure they stayed chubby with all the Haagen Daez, but that just makes her an even smarter businesswoman.

11) KYUU-CHAN IS SO BEAUTIFUL!!!! Like, dashing AND pretty at the same time.

12) So happy to see that the Yagyuu devas were all present again, especially Toujou.

13) I was actually pretty saddened when I thought he had passed away. Already started to miss the little old geezer.

14) I am of course still hoping that someone could end up being a woman, but I also understand Kyuu-chan’s strong sense of duty to her family. It would be nice if she could just have baby with some guy to carry on the Yagyuu clan and have a female lover...even though I also think she seems to only be Tae-sexual.  I’m just happy she is at peace with herself. She looks so beautifully joyful.

15) This was actually an odd bit of conversation since it sounded like they both thought Gintoki was in love with Kyuubei. Not that I’m objecting, but it is interesting that they would even think he’d care about her being in a wedding dress.

16) And then when something like this happens, I realize I’m stupid to even think Kyuu-chan can ever be with a man. He wouldn’t survive the attempt.

17) Bimbokusai lives! And I was genuinely happy about it.

SHIPS TALLY: 

Gintoki x Hijikata: they’re still together, suffering together, being discarded like trash together. That’s enough to make me immensely pleased.

Kyuubei x Otae: they’re still spending time together. Although, to be honest, since Kyuu-chan lacked the intensity of emotion she usually possesses around Tae-chan, I actually thought that was evidence that Otae was indeed married to Kondou. Would explain why she was finally willing to even seriously consider marriage. Didn’t mean to turn this into a KonTae thing, but that was what I was thinking when I first read this chapter.

Gintoki x Kyuubei: yes, even now I still think that if Gintoki had to end up with any of the Ginta ladies, I would still prefer that woman be Kyuubei. 

Hijikata x Yamazaki: they were communicating with each other psychically!!!  

Hijikata x Otae or Yamazaki x Otae: both could apply here, since it depends on whether or not she saw through the disguise. Either way, she wanted to see some nakedness.

A Gintama chapter a day keeps the ending away...Lesson 674

MY 20 FAVORITE MOMENTS IN LESSON 674:

I LOVE THIS CHAPTER TOO!!! SO MUCH TO REJOICE OVER!!! BEWARE: LOTS OF YELLING AHEAD BECAUSE I WAS FREAKING THE FUCK OUT THROUGH MOST OF THIS CHAPTER!

1) OMFGSHESSOCUTEITSUNREAL!!!!! I LOVED HER IMMEDIATELY AND WANTED TO PROTECT HER FOREVER!!!!

2) I don’t even think I cared that the math didn’t add up, I just loved her to bits and wanted her to be absolutely for real.

3) THEY WERE STILL TALKING!! I was so worried that after the last chapter it would jumpcut to a different scene and Gintoki would already be ushered off to somewhere else or something like that (I’m paranoid). The fact that they were still continuing their conversation was enough to make me so happy already.

4) I WANTED GINTOKI TO LODGE THERE FOR FREE, FOREVER!!!! It’s almost CRUEL how Sorachi-sama teased me with that idea!

5) That was unexpected. When I first read the last chapter, I thought he was just some random Shinsengumi member, don’t even think I spared him a glance, so when Hijikata addressed him here, I think I was surprised too. 

6) Love the metaness. I thought he was an insignificant mobcop too. 

7) In fact, I think I was a little annoyed that this mobcop was now disrupting the conversation between my Gintoki and Hijikata. 

8) I was actually happy when Hijikata smacked him. I had NO IDEA WHO HE WAS AT THE TIME. 

9) And then I thought, oh, he’s like a Tama-type robot, but more disgusting. Wtf.

10) Still no idea who he was, just thought his backstory was kinda sad. But I was still slightly annoyed we were taking precious GinHiji time to focus on this Mobcop. I can’t believe how stupid I was; should’ve guessed he was important based on the time spent on him!

11) Gintoki being such an understanding counselor.

12) Yep, I flipped out. Never expected this AT ALL.

13) But then I was instantly glad that not only did our precious Yamazaki survive, he was now better equipped to be with Tama. They’re totally perfect for each other! And they even have an offspring in Tamako. My dream of Yamazaki being Tama’s special screw was that much closer to becoming true. I was happiness.

14) They kinda deserved this for forgetting poor Jimmy. Obviously no one even picked up Yamazaki from where they left him once the battle was over. I don’t blame Gin-chan as much cuz he had a lot of things going on, but I definitely blame his Shinsengumi brothers.

15) NOOOOO!!!! I DIDN’T WANT HIM TO LEAAAVE!!!!! Dammit Gintoki!!!!

16) These two precious babies!!! They really are so adorable it was almost unbearable!

17) ACK! SO CUTE! I DIED. She really IS the ultimate weapon. No one can survive her cuteness!

18) That made absolutely no sense but I didn’t even CARE what banana or whose banana, I was just grateful to the banana for producing this little angel with Kagura. 

19) Complete nonsense, but I STILL DIDN’T CARE. If Kanna-chan says she’s Kagura’s daughter, then by the gods she IS Kagura’s daughter. I mean, yeah, eventually I did wonder (before the reveal) if maybe she was a clone or like a long lost sister or something crazy like that, but at THAT moment I really didn’t care.

20) AND ALL WAS RIGHT WITH THE TIMESKIP WORLD AGAIN!!!!! HALLELUJAH!!! THE PRINCE RETURNS!!!!! I wept from joy and relief.

SHIPS TALLY:

Gintoki x Hijikata: omg Gintoki’s expression...my heart melted from how soft it was!! Like, that was just for Hijikata and Hijikata alone. No one else has ever seen him with such a tender look. And now, knowing what we know, Hijikata’s reaction just makes me tear up. He must’ve been sooooooo disappointed!!! Ugh, my heart aches for him.
