He felt just as frozen in time as the people, the birds and everything motionless around him.
He felt like as hard as he was trying , as fast as he was moving, it was like she was only moving faster and getting closer to hitting the solid asphalt of the street below her.
Robin took a deep breath and persisted on.
He was almost there. He was.
But inside his mind he was doubting himself and the thought alone was terrifying.
He was going to fail Raven. He was going to lose Raven.

Finally after what seemed like a millennium he was only a breath away. She fell into his arms, her body riddled with bruises and those strange markings and her clothing torn in a way that he didn't want to think of.
Damm Slade and his cruel, sick ways of torture. He should never had let Raven get as far away and alone with the mercenary who just tossed her off of a sky scraper.
But he caught her and now he could and would keep her safe. With a smile on his face and the feeling of relief in his blood he looked at her.
She was unconscious but alive, and as he landed them on the ground, she woke up.
“Let's go home,” he said to her.
