been thinking about how robert spearing’s name hurts him and has always been a self fulfilling prophecy. his mum forced people to call him robert, never rob. she wanted him to be exactly like her and what his last name is: spearing. it may most likely be his fathers’ name but it’s partly him and their union as well.
he never will be “spearing”. he won’t ever be able to live up to his dead mum’s expectations. it isn’t in him and he sees how the industry is killing everyone around him, he knows he’s a bad fit. he was always meant to relinquish his title to be closer to happiness. because otherwise his family is a dead weight looming over him forever, and parts of them will show up in his closest friends.
