Richard Wayne Penniman (born December 5, 1932-May 9,2020) is known as Little Richard! He is best known for his elaborate piano-playing skills and wild onstage performances in rock and roll, R&B, soul, and gospel. His onstage attire was as busy as his performances. He originally wanted to be a minister, but changed his heart when he fell in love with music and performing. Little Richard is a significant fixture in shaping early rock and roll and R&B. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1986 as one of its first inductees. He was also inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame. In 2015, the National Museum of African American Music honored Little Richard with a Rhapsody & Rhythm Award for helping shape popular music genres and helping break down racial divisions in the music industry. He and his music have appeared in various films and on television. He is one of the frontrunners of early rock and roll.

Charles (Chuck) Edward Anderson Berry (October 18, 1926 – March 18, 2017) is one of the pioneers of rock and roll music. It wasn’t the Beatles, Jimi Hendrix, or Marty McFly. Berry writes classic rock and roll songs like “ Maybellene” and “ Johnny B. Goode.” Berry’s were lighthearted and teenage fun. Berry was one of the first artists to popularize guitar solos and fantastic showmanship, notably with his distinctive duck walk. Berry had several hit records and had a lucrative touring career even into his 90s. In 1986, he was among the first artists inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. Berry is one of the biggest influences in rock and roll music, thanks to his songwriting and playing style, and he has made a lasting impression on both rock music and R&B. I could go on a long-winded history lesson about rock and roll and how it evolved. I’ll say Chuck Berry laid the groundwork for it; he will be remembered for all the work he has done in music.

The thought of Chai’s behaviour when he has a legit crush on someone jumps between “Even more boastful than before” and “He’s even more pathetic than before”.

And of course, two truths can exist simultaneously. As usual.

Which is why I think that if Chai was to be crushing on someone hard he would try to impress them whenever he could. And I’m not talking about Chai just trying to prove that he’s a capable (and cool) dude and not a total fuckup. He’s already usually trying to do that, so in this case it would be dialled to 11, yes. I’m talking him pulling crazy stunts, for fights or for dancing or whatever (can he break it down? can he do a backflip?). I’m talking remembering fave things of the person he’s crushing on and bringing said things to them “just because”. I’m talking full on peacocking, showing off his arm, his gear, his scrap and normal guitar(s). He’d probably boast about learning guitar faster than he expected. He’d probably even try and write songs for his crush or learn their favourite tunes in secret just to play them later. Dude will be trying, but at the same time…

He’d trip when he tries to strut towards his crush, stutter when they point out his “funny” behaviour, blush more if said crush compliments him unprompted. He’d be such a mess one could think the guy is malfunctioning.

And the Gang would clock in his change, and they would tease him for it (mostly Peppermint). I can see Mac be very encouraging towards Chai, probably even helping him woe his crush with some romantic biz. Korsica is upfront with Chai too, probably patting his shoulder and going “You can do it, tiger” as he tries to work up the courage. CNMN is… he’s supportive too, but the tactics he sometimes brings to the table can be, well… We can all learn more from Macaron in the romance department.

808 would be a winggirlie, if Chai is going to be too much of a 🐱 to step up, then 808 will take the reins.

If your crush is HR Lady named Roulette then God help you because she probably won’t even think twice about why your ass is shaking for her. She’ll be preoccupied with work, ruminate in her head or simply consider your gestures of appreciation just that - gestures of appreciation. What do you want her to do, tell you how much of a good boy you are for bringing her favourite sweet treats? Laugh at your stupid pun that is exceptionally horrible today? Let you dance with her when she’s moving to Summerboy by Lady GaGa?

Okay maybe that would impress her actually

Not gonna post this on the main-main tag, but while there’s still caffeine in my system and I’m taking small breaks from sketching HFR OC requests…

I wanted to write small Rock&Roll moment? I usually don’t share my shipping writing for Chai and Roulette on my blog (yes, their ship name is Rock&Roll). Still, I’d like to show a lot more interactions between them because I, and my friends, find them hilarious together. Be it platonic or romantic stuff.

I felt compelled to write that these two would definitely pretend to be a couple just to get 20-40% discount in some cafe that offers it. They’re out to get lunch and suddenly they see the announcement with said discount. They glances at each other, Ru flashing a knowing look at Chai while he’s rubbing his neck with a coy smile

And then we cut to them ordering a whole lotta food. We hope to God Chai didn’t forget to bring his wallet with him because you can’t have Roulette paying for you constantly. You’re the one who offered to even go lunchin’ in the first place, STEP UP DUDE.

One step closer to being published. It's in my editors hands now, Rowan, for the final proofing. This feels surreal and a little scary. I have no idea what to expect from this. This book is just a short collection of 10 vignettes with the main characters of a novel I finished last week. Never in my life did I see this happening.
