I would say “But I just posted something less than two weeks ago!” But that was............ something else. Not the sort of writing you’ve been waiting on, or were looking forward to reading, I know.

Like I said, I really do plan to start on this soon. Except for maybe a (very) short addition to Carnivores, one that shouldn’t take me long once I actually find the time to write, this big one is next on my list. But it could be quite some time before it’s complete. From the time I begin... a month minimum, probably closer to two, maybe even three if I can stand it. Bright Like the Sun, for example, took a month and a half, and the last two weeks of that felt a bit like whipping myself all the way to the finish (lol I wish I was kidding). Kind of funny that a fic so aptly named left me burned out for months until Fever Pitch... I couldn’t stay away from the ToDae flame forever.

Anyway! We’ll get there eventually, sooner or later. Thanks for your encouraging words. 😄

So it’s been a year already… time sure flies so fast. I still remember the day I found Carnivores and it was like a storm to me. I lost count on how many times I’ve read the whole series, cause i couldn’t put into word how much I adore this series.

If I had to pick just one thing that left a mark on me, I’d pick Seunghyun. I love everything about Seunghyun in this series. A true hero. I love his rough but sweet love to Daesung, I love his protection and possession, his sacrifice and devotion. His love for Daesung always left me touched and giddy.

Oh, can I take it you’re writing another piece in this series? Gosh it would be awesome, i miss these boys a lot.

“It was like a storm to me.” -- I love that! That’s a good description of how writing it felt, too. I had a lot of pent-up ToDae feelings at the time that needed to break free. Comments like yours mean the world to me-- make me giddy-- because knowing that other fans out there found a similar sense of satisfaction in their story (Seunghyun’s and Daesung’s), even if only a few... that makes it all worth it. Every word.

About writing another part... Not yet, but I will be. Possibly something short and then definitely something longer. I’ve been taking notes since... March? It’s funny, I realized just the other day that one reason I’m writing so slow lately is because my focus is divided. Last year while working on Carnivores, scenes and conversations were always jumping into my head, but these bursts of inspiration were, thankfully, always related to whatever fic I was knee-deep in at the time (Carnivores series). I guess I was so tangled up in that universe that not much else could get through.

These days, though, I’ll be writing in one file... and I’ll have 2 or 3 files for other fics open on my second screen (I have two monitors), and sometimes in the middle of a sentence for one fic I’ll go, “Oh!” and start jotting down notes for one or more of those other fics. My mind is just everywhere at once and can’t seem to settle on one thing anymore. It’s fun but also a bit frustrating because it makes for slow going overall. lol

I look forward to everything you listed out in your master-list, especially the sequel to Dreams Like Ashes Float Away (gosh there’s no way I could describe how I love this series) and Part 4 of Hearts on Fire. Hope you could make time and speed up with your writing, cuz i’m sure there are lots of people longing for your stories :x                             

Thank you! I’ve... actually taken a break from writing for the last two weeks because I get so obsessed with dedicated to a fic once I finally commit to working on it. In a way it’s been nice to get away from that mindset for a bit. Was also hoping I’d have more time to write this summer like I did last year, but so far it’s not really panning out that way. :[

Of course, notes (and sometimes whole scenes and conversations) are still being jotted down as they come to me, so it’s not like nothing’s getting done. Just can’t decide which to ~pledge~ myself to next! I do want to start on that DLAFA sequel soon, but also have this weird idea that I need to get a couple more standalone fics out before returning to that series.

Gonna answer these two together. The answer I want to give is... no, and I certainly hope not. Because the only way I’m going to write for a new fandom is if I stop writing for my current one: Big Bang.

I am one of those “one fandom at a time” people. I can’t do multi-fandom; can’t divide my interests like that. I wish I could but... my tendency to fixate on just one individual doesn’t really allow for it. So if I take enough of an interest in some other fandom to start writing fiction for it, that would mean I’m already halfway out the door of this one, packed bags in hand, ready to leave my old flame behind.

The approaching “long blank period” is a concern of mine... but I think it’s best if we don’t talk about that too much. 😶

16. Do you have that one fanfic that you wrote a ton for, ages ago, but never posted? Will this be the year, come hell or high water, that it WILL get finished and posted?

Hmmm... I have lots of what I consider “notes” files, and some of them are quite long, but I don’t think those count! There’s just one fic that comes to mind that’s actually a rough draft of sorts and could be carried through to completion with a little discipline on my part. It’s a ToDae oneshot around 5,000 words at the moment about BB in their early years... and about TOP coming to the realization that sometimes, to cope with criticism, Daesung wears that beautiful smile of his like armor.

Try Smiling was the working title. Wrote it way back in July 2016 while taking a short break from Carnivores. Can’t really picture myself returning to it though... it’s been so long, it’s really rough, and my interest in younger BB has always been slim at best. I’d say there’s an 80% chance it never gets finished.

20. Any plans to work on original fiction this year? 

Nope. I have little interest in original fiction. I’ve never been that person who enjoys creating her own characters; just can’t bring myself to care about them if they’ve come entirely from my own mind. That’s what draws me to fanfiction: I’m thinking of and writing about people I’ve already come to know and love. And it helps that, for the most part, the readers already know and love them too. 👍

Maybe, just maybe, in the process of telling these stories these characters separate a bit from the people they’re based on...  like in my Carnivores AU, for example. Right now the only way I can imagine stepping into original fiction territory is by taking my own fanfic and generalizing it (changing the names and whatever else). I’m still a long way from wanting to go there though.

Aw, I’m pretty much always working on something, lol. Even when I jetted away on a short vacation earlier this month-- just a lil’ 7 day getaway in the mountains of Montana-- I was inspired by some things I saw and continued adding to my notes for a fic I fully intend to start on in the next month or two. It’s just that I’ve become a slower writer these days than I was this time last year...

But yes, I’m pretty far into something at the moment and expect to have it finished and posted by the end of the week. I hope you’ll like it. :)

Hmmm, not likely. I like reading high school / college AUs too (the one that comes to mind first is Stronger Than Blood) but for some reason I’ve never given any serious thought to writing one. I’ll think about it. Those high school & college years are such an interesting time for people, developmentally.

Oh, but there is a ToDae college AU called “How’s It Hanging?” currently in progress over at AO3! Just in case you haven’t seen it. The author began posting it there this past week.
