This weekend is the Niagara Art Trail, and my indoor rock trading post is just outside of my Art studio, so I spent last night decorating rocks, seashells, and whatever else I had on hand to restock the whole house! It's located inside of ART247 (Market Street, Lockport), up on the second floor. The next rock painting days at my studio inside ART247 (Lockport) are going to be Sun Sept. 16th 2-4pm, AND Wed Sept. 26th 2-4pm. See attached flyer for more info. I had thought that with school back in session I would just move rock painting day at the studio back to Sundays, because while rock painting is all ages fun, a lot of the kids won't be able to go during the week. However, I've been asked by a couple people to keep Wednesdays going because it was a fun thing to do with their younger grandkids + some people work every weekend. - I had tried scheduling 2 days each month last Spring, stopped due to low turnout, but between the requests and more signups I think I can give it another try. Hosting another Rock Painting Day! This time it's Sunday, May 20th 1-4pm. See attached flyer for more info. It's the weekend BEFORE Memorial Day weekend, so you can have a few rocks painted just in time to hide while you're out enjoying the holiday. :D If there are any supplies or specific types of rocks you absolutely have to have/want to try, feel free to bring your own supplies, but I will have rocks, tags, stickers, paint, and sealers to share. Also - If you can't attend because Sundays just don't work for your schedule, please let me know. My schedule is usually pretty flexible in the afternoon (I'm already in the Art studio throughout the week to begin with) and ART247 is open to the public Wed-Sun 10am-5pm. Hey Everybody, I wanted to share some of the pics I took during the rock painting day I hosted at my Art studio in Lockport last weekend. :) Had a great time meeting some people from #sweetbuffalorocks /the area, and we all had a chance to paint a few more rocks. My Art studio neighbor, Janet, also happened to come into the building to work while we were there, and she popped in to studio 233 with a bin of extra rocks and paint for us. Super nice of her! (If you happen to be headed to Olcott NY this Summer, she co-owns one of the cute little beachside shops there - VacantiARTS ) Anyway, I have been receiving comments and emails asking if I could host a rock painting day in May too. And the answer is Yes! I would love to. :D I have a whole painting/classroom area inside my studio now (see pics), and as long as people keep wanting to come in and paint I will try to have at least one day available every month.
