"If only there were more sharks ... with rockets ... shooting lasers.”
Possible boss music for the demo.
Pretty happy with how intense it feels. Was originally intending it for the level music, but I think it might be just a bit too intense to fit.
Had a very productive day working on Rocket Shark.
Missile Whale is now a full boss (though I'm planning on adding one more attack, and I need to test to make sure his phasing works).
Added a health-bar for Missile Whale, so you can see how close to killing him you are.
And I also started work on adding different methods of control to the game. Currently there are two different styles.
There's the Tap-And-Hold style where when you're not inputting, RS will move and angle downwards, and when you have your finger on the screen (or hold the space key), RS will move and angle upwards.
The other style is the Tap-And-Drag style, where dragging up will move/angle up and dragging down will move/angle down (also done with the up/down arrow keys).
Tomorrow I will be adding the Multi-touch style, where you control movement with one finger/set of keys, and angle with another finger/set of keys.
When I release the demo, I will have an option screen where you can chose between the three, and if people enjoy the option enough, I will keep it in the final version. Otherwise, I will put in the most requested method (if there's a clear winner).
Decided to actually start working on the first level's song. This is what I have so far, and I'm at a little writer's block for the continuation (I want the song to be at least three and a half minutes long, if not longer than that). I am NOT planning on having the song loop, because of the fact that it's a very 'on-rails' kind of setup, where only the stage bosses will be player dependent on how long it will last.
The idea is to build intensity, to add to the overall atmosphere of the game.
So, with posting this gif, I have a small announcement for Lazer Shark. I am no longer calling the game Lazer Shark, but instead Rocket Shark.
This decision is mainly because of the fact that you will be able to change weapons (ranging from a gatling gun, to grenade launcher), and also to remove any possible issues that may arise with references to a certain English spy <.<
So, anyways! What is a Rocket Shark without his trusty Rocket??? That's exactly what this bad boy is. By use of this amazing machine, Rocket Shark is able to traverse any terrain, even possibly beyond the stars
