Is there a reason why they prescribed you gel? I hope that isn't to nosy. I'm in the process of trying to get approved for T.
Not too nosy at all, and yes!
In Norway the process of getting hormones/surgery is pretty long and shitty. On average it takes almost 10 years from start to finish, and they refuse about 80% of all appliers. Luckily, I found out that in theory, my personal doctor could prescribe me a low dose of testosterone outside of the system, so to speak. My doctor has never given testosterone to a transgendered person before, so she wanted to start slow and with a low dose, to see how my body handles it.
I am also a singer, and studies show that lower doses of T taken more often gives a bigger chance not permanently damaging the singing voice. Here is a post expanding a bit on this topic http://trashboyinblue.tumblr.com/post/104703494311/bbseamonster-i-get-asked-about-this-quite
