Recently completed: The Papillon, 5 x 7 oil on canvas. This will be framed with a 2.5 inch wide satiny silver frame which I found that’s really going to complement the color. I have it planned for an art show in Sept-October! This butterfly, I believe is called a Swallowtail. I passed through a gorgeous scenic view called Rock Gap on my way to Charlottesville, VA this summer (visiting my brother and sister-in-law). There were a TON of butterflies, several species of bee, and several birds all buzzing around this flower patch at the top of the overlook. Already an outstanding view, they brought a symphony of wonder for all who dares stop in the 100+ degree heat! Pro Tip: ALWAYS bring your good camera with you, as opportunity rewards the prepared!
