Confused as to why one would expect me to post content not about rocks
how does one participate in rocksgiving?
... This has to be a joke. You /steal/ rocks?? No.
Its called a mine because the rocks in it are for me
I get to eat them.
A lot of people try to dunk on Hansel and Gretel for willingly walking into an edible house, but we've all been inside stone brick buildings.
/You/ could learn to stand that people in glass houses shouldn't play with their food
what rocks are in your area that you 100% don't eat?
Great question! All rocks are equally worthy of consideration for consumption, but I actually have a uranium allergy! Makes my throat swell up, but you shouldn't let that stop you from pursuing your geoculinary ventures
I picked up like 200lbs of rocks when I went rockhounding with my sister. It will take a while to get them all home😂 to be fair they're all larger pieces for my garden
Black Canyon of the Gunnison
was oh my god amazing. one of the quieter but more beautiful national parks we’ve been to. people climb here, which we didn’t do because the rocks are pretty forbidding and we are Not Prepared for that kind of thing, but we did get to do some bouldering with jes’s friend louis the park ranger (more on that in another post).
but black canyon was spectacular. we hiked way down from the top to the river, covering almost 2000 feet of elevation in about a mile. in the middle of the day. the hot, hot day. it was good. we felt successful.
jes found some rocks on the way down.
also did i mention it was PRETTY?
