oh my heart... #rockstarpope #papafrancisco ・・・ Sofia Cruz had a 'mission impossible' during Pope Francis' visit in Washington on Wednesday, and despite the tremendous odds, she managed to Tom Cruise it. The five-year-old, American-born daughter of Mexican immigrants got past the security barricades at the Pope's procession and caught the eye of the Supreme Pontiff, who reportedly told his security, "Let her come to me." She got a Pope hug, and handed him a handwritten letter asking him to speak with the president about immigration issues. One excerpt from her letter said, "All immigrants just like my dad feed this country. They deserve to live with dignity. They deserve to live with respect." When she was asked how it felt to get that Pope hug, she just said, "Happy." Pope Francis continues his tour of the U.S. today, arriving in New York this evening, and headed to Philadelphia on Saturday. (Source material: The New York Times)
