It’s hard to convince him to take a moment for himself, to unwind and possibly relax. There’s always something to be done, whether it be because of his duties as an Elite or his responsibilities as a renowned Chef. He holds both titles with pride and every ounce of it arrives with a need to work hard as progression is a must in both fields.
Grant has other ideas, however, and with much persistence he gets Siebold to take a break from it all. They agree to meet at Coumarine City and so after making arrangements to take some time off he finds himself awaiting Grant’s arrival at his own home that resides close to the sea.
The mansion is no small feat as it seems to stand against the very mountains it’s nestled against. It holds about as much grandeur as the man who owns it yet it has been some time since he’s been back here. His lodging in Lumiose serves its purpose while he cooks for the most refined of pallets and his chambers at the League do much the same. They’re both suitable enough for him but nothing compares to being able to come home. Perhaps that is why Grant chose this location or was he simply overthinking his friend’s gesture?
There were a multitude of reasons Grant could have chosen Coumarine though given the rocky terrain and wild sea he is more ready to assume he’s thinking of ways to enjoy it beyond its appealing scenery. He makes a face at that thought as he waits for Grant’s arrival in the foyer of his home, expectant of him to be on time and as prompt as he is. We can’t have everything.... He reminds himself as he checks his watch, ever hoping that Grant doesn’t do something too dangerous while he’s in his presence. That carefree nature of his will get him killed. As he’s said time and again and while it has yet to happen it doesn’t mean he’s not expecting it to.
Really, he doesn’t understand why Grant is so reckless and more importantly how he hasn’t gotten himself seriously injured. I suppose I’m thankful for that at least. You should feel awful worrying me like this and we haven’t even gone out. He checks his watch again, and just as he’s about to expect Grant to be late he hears a knock on his door and yet he waits to answer it. He can’t seem too eager to see his friend and after a few moments pass he strides up to the door and opens it.
There he waits and upon seeing him Siebold feels himself relaxing, all worry and fretting awash with another feeling entirely. It’s good to see him as it always is and while it’s not so present upon his features the way he carries himself more than presents it as there is no smile and no excitement in his words.
“So you’ve managed to convince me to, as you say, ‘live a little’. What exactly are you planning, Grant?” He expects an answer now as he couldn’t get one from Grant before on the matter.
