What is your thoughts on Yuki from Given?

Kizu Natsuki wrote him in a way that we would feel so attached to him the same way Mafuyu does. So the fact that he died, and the fact that he left Mafuyu unprepared also left a shock on me. He was portrayed as a very good man. Someone very outgoing and gets along with everyone. I would say I was attracted to the kind of man he was. He've taken care of Mafuyu, made him happy and sincerely and wholeheartedly loved him. But at the same time, have immensely hurted him. That's why everytime I hear Fuyu No Hanashi especially the week after watching Given, I would literally pause and cry because I feel that emptiness. His absence, his death was so uncalled for. I wouldn't want to invalidate what he've gone through that night that he came to that point but I can't help to think, "It was just a petty fight! Why did you have to take it so hard?" He's dead but he's the kind of character that is not easy to let go since he holds a huge part on the story. Mafuyu and Uenoyama wouldn't have probably met and get to know each other even if they go to the same school if Yuki is still alive. I honestly wished he didn't die and made up with Mafuyu the next day. Because the love that they have, although it was young and probably immature, it was real and sincere.

Many says that Kizu Natsuki need to stop with pulling Yuki into the story and focus on Mafuyu and Uenoyama's relationship instead of being tied down with Mafuyu's first and past love. But the truth is, if anyone's in Mafuyu's shoes, they wouldn't be able to get over or even recover from it. Yuki died on winter while Mafuyu and Uenoyama started becoming friends on summer the following year. It hasn't even been a year. How could anyone expect someone to just get over with it and be fully dedicated to their current love? It might seem like Mafuyu is only using Uenoyama as a replacement for Yuki but the kind of love he had for Yuki was different with the one he has with Uenoyama. It was a love done right. He doesn't want the same mistake with Yuki to happen twice with Uenoyama. Because he's happy now and he doesn't want to lose him.

OH GOD. No, it's not bad and I don't wanna kinkshame you or anything. But you sound like my deepest and darkest thoughts I've buried throughout this hiatus and took human form just to message me anonymously 😭 Please, he's been through so much, I just want Nakyum and Seungho to be happily loving each other on S3 but of course that won't be happening so easily. But oh my gosh, we're starting to be sadistic af like BD. Now I'm scared BD would read this and just go for it. Nooooo. 😭
