Given 10th Mix is too! damn! short!

My Tumblr page is mostly Marvel but I'm a connoisseur of many fandoms. So over the past two weeks or so I’ve binged a hefty handful of anime. Mostly silly little BL or romance things.

Now I forgot what an absolute heartbreaker Given is. The last time I watched it I think I was about 13. And because I have a brain like a sieve a good chunk of the story exited my brain. So when i watched the series I bawled them because I like to torture myself I watched all of the movies right after that while making my portfolio for an interview.

Now if that wasn’t enough torture in itself I also decided to top it off with a BANANA FISH rewatch. I love banana fish. But watching that and Given in near enough single sitting was depressing.

To cheer myself up I did end up rewatching Buddy Daddies and a few episodes of Go for It, Nakamura!

everytime I rewatch given im amazed even more at how they accidentally created the perfect depiction of a neurodivergent character through mafuyu entirely unintentionally. maybe im projecting onto him as someone with diagnosed adhd and autism but genuinely he reads as the most autistic not-actually-autistic character ever and i love him even more every time i think about that. there's so many reasons why i think this but while writing this I just remembered that one flashback scene where he's sitting with his knees to his chest with all the toy trains lined up in front of him and i started giggling to myself
