Waxwork’ original motion picture soundtrack is available on vinyl for the first time for $30 via Terror Vision Records. Composed by Roger Bellon (The Knight Before Christmas, The Unholy), the score is pulled from the original tapes.

The album is pressed on two color variants: neon yellow with neon pink pinwheel and neon orange with violet splatter (both pictured below). It’s housed in a die-cut gatefold jacket designed by Earl Kessler Jr. with liner notes by Bellon.

The Waxwork soundtrack is also available on cassette for $12.

Workmanlike and plodding for the most part despite a solid cast #Howard and Holbrook are badly underused and do little more than deliver dry exposition (a waste of both actors) but Cross #equips himself well considering the derivative nature of the material and the under developed role. ned beatty is just kind of there for #ten minutes then swiftly forgotten about (removing his scenes would in no way change the film; another inexplicable waste) but i #gotta hand it to em‚ that final showdown is a masterclass in over the top slop and horror. practical fx wizardry meets disturbed minds #and the result is writ large in a catholic church full of oozing monsters and blood vomit. subtle it is not. actually the ending was reshot #precisely to add those fx: the original as shot is an extra on the vestron blu and actually‚ it may be slightly better. less showy and #gruesome but shot perhaps with a little more style and flair. ho hum ho hum it is what it is

I first watched it years ago and was drawn to it (obviously) because of my main man David Warner #But the film instantly became a part of my psyche. I mean. What's not to love? Everything about this strange little love letter to the #Old universal horror films is just utterly weird and wonderful. There's the script which is part 80s teen comedy and then lurches #Suddenly into gore soaked horror almost without warning. There's the performances not least Warner's brilliantly judged #Villain who balances the banality of evil with an eyebrow raising archness. There's the effects which are genuinely really good #Until the end when they're not because the team ran out of money. And the music! The sheer balls to end your film with #It's My Party for the horror film equivalent of whiplash. And Patrick Macnee drives a wheelchair tank into battle. I mean. What more could #You possibly need. I am incapable of being objective about this film because it's part of my soul. Ymmv. Massively i suspect.#Oh and i don't know who dressed Warner for this film but i can't decide if they deserve a medal or to be shot.#Purple jacket with yellow pants and red waistcoat?
