Roger Soyer, a highly underrated French operatic bass, performing "Vieni la mia vendetta..." from the opera Lucrezia Borgia.
Just a beautiful, strong sound. I wish more video and audio recordings existed of his performances.

So while we're on the subject, I'm going to go ahead and post the magnificent, yet largely un-remember/unrecognized today, French bass Roger Soyer also singing "Le Veau D'or" as Mephistopheles, from Gounoud's Faust, as a comparison to Samuel Ramey (see previous post).
Soyer has an elegant stage presence and a beautiful, expressive voice. It's interesting to see how he can convey the sinister, yet attractive, nature of the role without having the visual aid of red or devilish garments.
