It Happened Long Ago
To Steven, it seemed like only yesterday. But 300 years had passed since he’d been complete....full...one. Thanks to them....thanks to her.
He glanced up at the sky, watching as some birds flew towards the Crystal Mountains. A growl rumbled deep in his chest lowly, somberly, mourning the loss of his other half.
300 years trapped in his beastly form. 300 years of solitude aside from the three remaining members of his coven. For 300 years they had searched, trying to locate the one thing he needed more than anything. His gem.
Steven was once ~~is~~ part of a species of magical beings known as Gems. Gems were ~~are~~ a special type of being. Pointed ears and multicolored complexions were their most defining physical features. They were as beautiful as they were deadly.
Long before Steven’s time (and Steven had lived for quite a long time at this point), a Gem named Rose Quartz rose to become the leader of a coven of Gems who had dubbed themselves “The Crystal Gems.” They resided in the Crystal Mountains. Their temple, a large cave like structure whose entrance was guarded by the stone likeness of an eight armed woman with four eyes (beautiful and terrifying despite her extra parts), stood regally in the center of the Forest, keeping watch over the nearby lands. Two of the Gems, Garnet and Pearl, stood alongside Rose Quartz as she lead a Rebellion against their Homeland, their former comrades and their betrayed leader, Pink Diamond.
But things....weren’t quite as they appeared.
