it is absolutely tragic and wild to me that there is only one singular Whitby x Control fanfic on all of ao3 (tho shoutout to that one fic, it's a cool little scene) and zero Whitby & Control fics!

like did no one else get ideas from these scenes? was no one else compelled??

Historically, in every format that bans on power/ridiculousness, Degenerate Combo enablers and Tutors have been banned, by and large the tutors first (i.e. Stoneforge and the "recent" banning of Survival of the Fittest in Legacy). Jace was banned and set a precedent: "just too good". Jace didn't start any ridiculous combos, doesn't specifically tutor anything, he locked the board with 2 of the first three abilities and the last is just icing. R&D should be wary of changing things very late in development and not playtest them much (Skullclamp was banned for the same reason, too powerful, not enough testing).
