Rohrig Tarot

I have a pretty extensive collection of tarot and oracle decks, but there is one deck that I turn to time and again.  Without question, if told I could only use one deck from now on, I would reach for this one. 

Each trump card contains pencil sketches of Rider Waite images as well as gorgeous modern paintings and symbols from astrology, Norse mythology and the Kabbalah.  The deck is designed around the format of Crowley's Thoth deck with the court cards being Prince, Princess, Knight and Queen, and the numbered cards bearing the same word associations at the top. It is a sensual, visually rich deck that speaks in powerful tones for the experienced reader.  Those with less knowledge of the traditional archetypes will still find there is enough visual richness that the information will come through. 

I turn to this deck by default and find that it particularly helpful when clear, straightforward information is desired.  I have never found a situation where it could not fill the need.  That makes it all the more tragic that this deck is currently out of print. Used decks are available on Amazon starting at $100.  For an experienced reader who would like to tap into a powerful resource, or a collector who appreciates artistic decks, it would be a worth while investment.  

One caution, there is a great deal of nudity and while it is not photographic, it is still quite realistic.  This would not be the right deck for a mixed age group or anyone who might be easily offended by such things.
