FASTNET - TUTTO BENE A BORDO 🇬🇧 After a boisterous start and the first few bracing miles that involved 25 knots of breeze and chaotic seas, Giancarlo, Martin Le Pape and their media woman @martinaorsini.photographer are this Monday morning making for the south-west tip of England and its famous promontory of Land’s End. “The wind is shifty both in terms of intensity and direction. As a result, there are some fluctuations to be exploited to get past the tip of Cornwall as quickly as possible and then set a course for the Fastnet. It’s interesting because there are quite a few moves to play”, commented the skipper of @Prysmian_Group, who is slugging it out with the Damien Seguin – Benjamin Dutreux pairing, gaining a slight edge at the position report. “The most complicated section of the race is behind us now as it involved the start phase. Right now, we’re sailing under full main and J2, with 16 to 18 knots of breeze. All’s well aboard”, indicated the Italian skipper. 🇮🇹 Dopo una partenza in condizioni meteo-marine complesse, con mare formato e 25 nodi di vento con raffiche di 30, Giancarlo, Martin Le Pape e la loro mediawoman Martina Orsini navigano ad una velocità di circa 10 nodi in direzione del famoso promontorio di Land's End davanti al quale si trova una TSS (Traffic Separation Zone), una zona all’interno della quale è proibita la navigazione. « Il vento è instabile, sia per intensità sia per direzione. Stanotte inizierà a girare verso Ovest, un cambiamento da sfruttare per superare il più velocemente possibile la punta della Cornovaglia per poi dirigersi verso il Fastnet », ha commentato lo skipper di Prysmian Group che ha ben gestito la partenza della regata e attualmente naviga leggermente in vantaggio rispetto al duo Damien Seguin - Benjamin Dutreux. « La parte più complessa della regata, la fase della partenza con una flotta numerosa nonostante le partenze scaglionate e un vento teso e rafficato, è ormai superata. Attualmente navighiamo con randa piena e J2, con vento tra i 16 e i 18 nodi da Sud-Ovest.
