Great unknown: Paris.
Six weeks ago I was walking the streets of one of the most beautiful cities on this planet.
So what did Paris do to me? There is no real explanation, I’m not even sure if it’s a permanent change in my mind but I felt at ease. With me, the world, the people around me. Somehow I realized that I fit into this city just fine. I knew I would fall for it, but bloody hell I didn’t know how much I would.
I wandered these streets with an expression of wonder in my eyes. I saw the wonder of this city around every corner, in every building, in every tree. I tried to soak it all in, and I’ll try to hold on to these feelings for as long as I can. Even though our stay was over way too fast, I still have the memories captured and treasured inside of me. I will never let them go, because right now they are what I hold on to. Memories always helped me to cope, always put me at ease.
As I want to be truly honest in this blog, I have to admit that at the beginning of our stay the events that happened in 2015 and also the events that happened afterwards, came to my mind pretty often. I was scared but as soon as I realized how much I enjoyed this city, it faded. Paris is just magical and you can feel every bit of it as soon as you realize the magic. I didn’t tell my friends with whom I’ve stayed because I decided that I should not let fear define my actions and thoughts.
Also “Great Unknown” by William Ryan Key helped me a lot during that weekend. I was listening nonstop to it and I can’t think of a better song to describe my feelings during that visit right now because I got really thoughtful during our stay from time to time.
“Will I ever stop imagining, what if I have done things differently? And will you find it? A corner in your heart for me long after we part? Long after we part. Funny how time doesn’t care who we love and
Does anybody see beyond the trees? Does anybody get across the sea? I was travelling to where I can’t recall. I can’t get back to you now.”
Also thanks to @cup-of-tea-with-lady-who and @sherlock-jutschina-holmes for dealing with me during this trip. ♥
