I made a gif set of Mina rolling her tongue. My obsession with her rolling her tongue has gotten out of hand!

sometimes i wanna stop rolling my r’s because of not getting in kidz bop (the people that got in can’t do it) but i wouldn’t be able to sing or speak italian without struggling

is it weird that i can roll my r’s but the members of kidz bop can’t? that’s why “rrrah!” wasn’t in their cover of “24k magic” (but one of the members of the uk version of kidz bop did it. but right now i’m talking about the american version of it). i have always found it so weird that i could do it but the members of kb are incapable of doing it. damn i'm so insecure about this

I'm trying to teach myself Finnish and am using Memrise and Mondly, both of which pronounce all the words as you learn them. As I get farther I'm starting to worry though; I can't roll my r's,. Is speaking Finnish still possible without doing so? :(

It’s not impossible, but it probably wont sound as natural, so I’d recommend practicing the r’s though and try to get them rrrrrrrolling. It might take a long time though and I know it’s a really common problem.

Try to start with words that have a consonant before the r and read stuff with loads of r’s fast (I’ve put some down below). You could also ask someone who’s learned Finnish how they did (since im native i learned it as younger).

You can practice rolling r’s by trying tp roll them in your native/english ex in trainer or wrong or vrrrrrrrrrrooooooooommm

Depending on how you pronounce butter&ladder you might actually roll them when saying it quickly (like butr/ladr). The t+r and d+r sounds are what we’re looking for.
