Tsukki/Kiyoko for “How do you always manage to look so captivating?” Please!!! <3
Tsukishima was known for a stern demeanor. He was filled with sarcasm and had a special knack for coming across both aloof and detached. Yamaguchi was one of the few who were allowed within his circle, their history triumphant over whatever feelings Tsukishima felt towards newcomers. While Tsukishima secretly did have a soft spot for Hinata sometimes due to their unspoken rivalry and the fact that they practiced together most out of all of the first years, the only third other person Tsukishima could say he genuinely liked was Kiyoko Shimizu, Karasuno’s manager.
Kiyoko was everyone’s favorite. Tanaka and Nishinoya adored her completely and the third years were obviously good friends with her, but Tsukishima found himself a little smitten with her not long into his first year. She was gorgeous, that was easy to see. But there was something special to her, the way she laughed made his heart skip on occasion, and the way she and Tsukishima would carry conversation once everyone left the club room, Tsukishima walking her to the bus stop at night when Yamaguchi would go practice with Shimada, was a bit different than how he talked to everyone else.
Kiyoko wasn’t just beautiful. She was intelligent and kind and so damn respectful that Tsukishima found himself drawn to it each and every time.
By the end of Tsukishima’s first year in high school, it was time to say goodbye to Daichi, Suga, Asahi, and Kiyoko. The four of them had officially graduated, and as one last hurrah, the entire team had decided to meet up for dinner to say their farewells and officially name Ennoshita as the next captain in Daichi’s absence.
When dinner had finished with minimal tears from most of the team, Kiyoko nudged Tsukishima outside of the restaurant.
“Would you mind walking me to the bus stop?” She questioned with a small smile.
“You don’t want to walk with them?” Tsukishima asked in response, nodding at Daichi, Suga, and Asahi who were headed off in the opposite direction of where they were standing. “As like a final goodbye?”
“We’re having our own get-together tomorrow night,” Kiyoko commented lightly. “I’m going to the same university as Suga anyway. I’ll be seeing him a lot regardless.”
So the two of them made their way to the nearest bus stop, the stop a few blocks away. They carried a light conversation between them, Kiyoko lamenting on the end of her favorite year in high school. She expressed optimism for her future, excited to pursue her love of math in university, Tsukishima agreeing that she would have a good time and would learn a lot.
As the bus pulled up in the middle of their conversation, Kiyoko was saying her goodbyes as she finished the end of a braid in her hair. Tsukishima noticed that she played with her hair often and this time, she had opted for a simple but beautiful braid that hung over her right shoulder.
“How do you always manage to look so captivating?”
Tsukishima hadn’t realized what had come out of his mouth until Kiyoko was smiling widely at him, fingers nervously playing with the end of her braid, and her cheeks were flushed a little red.
Tsukishima, for the first time, was at a complete loss for words. He still couldn’t find the words when Kiyoko hugged him, her arms draping around his long neck and pressing her cheeks against his for a moment.
She was saying something, thanking him and telling him to get her number from Daichi, he thinks. But she boarded the bus with a kind wave, still smiling, and leaving Tsukishima uncharacteristically dumbfounded.
