Where Roma Maxima was won: Domenico Pozzovivo attacked up the steep, startlingly narrow, cobbled climb to Campi di Annibale. Valverde caught the little Italian over the top, and from there, Valverde put on an impressive display of power to hold off the hard chasing field behind. 中盤にいくつかの上りをこなした後、スタート地点のローマへと下るコースとして、クラシックハンターはもとより、展開次第でスプリンター、クライマーにもチャンスが巡ってくるのが特徴。
今年もさまざまな脚質の選手たちが優勝を争う格好となりました。
