🕊️ Our hearts ache for peace in the Ukraine-Russia conflict. Our Romani brothers and sisters are suffering and dying in this senseless war. Let us stand together and demand an end to this violence. We deserve to live in harmony, not to be sacrificed for the ambitions of others. 🕊️
We are deeply saddened and outraged by the violent attack on Roma families in Stavropol during a sacred time of mourning.
This is not an isolated incident, but part of a long and painful history of systemic discrimination, police violence, and the ongoing dehumanization of our community.
Our mourning deserves respect.
Our culture deserves dignity.
Our existence deserves safety.
We stand in solidarity with the Roma families affected, and we will continue to fight for justice, equality, and the right to live without fear.
Today, on Roma Nation Day, April 8th, we remember and honor the Roma lives lost—both Ukrainian and Russian—in the war in Ukraine. This is a conflict not of our own making, yet one in which our people have paid the ultimate price. Let us never forget the sacrifices of those who died in battles not meant for them. Our hearts go out to the families and parents who have lost their loved ones. This day is also a call for unity and strength—reminding us that we, the Roma people, deserve a land of our own, where we no longer have to die for the causes of others.
Three Years of War – A Romani Plea for Peace
Three years have passed since the war between Ukraine and Russia began. Three years of suffering, destruction, and death. And among the fallen are our Romani sons—fighting and dying on both sides, sacrificing their lives for the wars of Gadje masters who have never cared for our people.
We, the Roma Nation Movement, have always stood for peace. We do not start wars, yet our people are forced to fight in them. Ukrainian and Russian Romani soldiers fall on battlefields, while their families grieve, their communities struggle, and their voices remain unheard.
We say: No more Romani blood for Gadje wars! No more Roma dying for a future that is not ours!
We call for an end to this war. We demand justice for all those suffering, especially our Roma brothers and sisters who are displaced, mistreated, and forgotten in this conflict. The world must hear us—Roma lives matter, and Roma demand peace!
