Okay, I think it’s safe to say that we all know movies and TV are nothing like real life. This post is about something that happens in real life that School Romance stories often ignore. Say two people with different friend groups start dating. Now assume that they have the same lunch period. Before they get together, they sit in different parts of the lunchroom, but now that they’re a couple, they’d like to eat together. Now comes the awkward part. How do the lunchgroups change? Does A leave their lunchgroup to eat with B and their lunchgroup or vice versa? Do the groups merge? Does the couple alternate which group they sit with? This is something that happens all the time in real life, but is always ignored in movies and on TV. This is a chance for comedy gold, here.
