It's a seemingly quiet night outside the Godfrey mansion. Until a large slam of the door disturbs its peace. Y/N runs out the back door, her heart bleeds in pain.
"Y/N" Roman calls as he stands by the open doorway, a bit of his egotistical stubbornness despises having to chase after a woman. Grinding his jaw, he watches her flee into the dark maze just beyond the backyard Villa. If Roman was honest with himself, he thought the maze was a tad dramatic, even if the Godfrey's were considerably wealthy. But alas, his mother would never take it down. So there he grudgingly watched the beautiful girl run.
Y/N swipes angry tears from her face as she travels deeper and deeper into the labryinth. Not a care in the world for how lost she might become. She can hear him call her name and each time brings a pinch of pain. Longingly, her mind encouraged her to run back into his arms. Her overprotective dark prince. But she could never, this time he'd gone far enough and she woldn't be returning. Soon, her legs and now bare feet were aching in pain. She had abandoned her heels at the door and running in a formal dress wasn't exactly easier either. Falling to her knees into the grass, tucked away into a hidden crevice she finally rested.
The night was dark and cold. Y/N curled her legs up to her chest and prayed he wouldn't find her. She could hear him looking. While hearing the frustrated sighs and the crunching of leaves she could imagine exactly what he looked like. Closing her eyes, she could see his brows furrowed, dark eyes wild and determined and his lips which he would press together the longer he was agitated. A peaceful atmosphere washed over her as her eyes remained closed, as if she didn't have to remember all that happened that night. But it was suspiciously quiet. Had he stopped looking?
"Y/N"
Her eyes shot open, a gasp escaping her lips as she saw her Roman standing over her. He'd found her.
"Planning on staying here all night?" He chuckled lightly to himself. Y/N set her jaw with fierce determination.
"You're damn right I am"
He lowered himself to look her eye to eye, "Listen sweetheart", he spoke, "I didn't run all the way out here to find you just to leave you. I'll drag you back if I must".
"How could you say that to me? How? You embarrassed me in front of your entire family! And all for what? Just to keep up your little charade to not have to admit that the rich eligible bachelor is dating a waitress!" Y/N was fuming, "At some point it isn't acting, Roman. I want nothing to do with you".
Her eyes burned into his; she had never felt such a bold energy in her life. She wouldn't stand down. For anyone.
Roman's face remained still. As if it were carved in stone. But his gaze shifted to her lips. He let out an unsteady breath as he did one more quick glance to her eyes before slamming his mouth to hers.
Their lips molded together; hot and enveloping. Y/N heart ablaze, she wanted it more than anything; their souls seemed to twist into one. Her entire body responded, heat radiating, sensitive to his moving hands through her hair. He moaned softly into her lips, out of relief. But her stubborn mind wouldn't allow her to lose her pride. Pushing him with as much strength as she could muster, only distanced him a few inches. Warm breath fanning over her cheeks.
"Roman... I.. I told you. I'm not doing this anymore".
"I... I'm..." He sighed as it seemed he struggled to say what he truly meant, "Y/N I'm madly in love with you and I... Didn't know how to even comprehend that feeling. When my mother found out, she said that I needed to make the family believe... That I needed to make her believe... That you meant nothing to me".
Y/N was silent.
"I know what I did was wrong, but what I felt, horrified me". He stared at her deeply, "I thought if you ran away, and refused to see me again then maybe it'd be better... But when I saw you hurt by something I said, I couldn't bear it".
His hands moved down her arms, "Please believe me". His face moving close to hers,
"Please"
Y/N could feel the barbed wire around her heart melt away. He loved her? A smile broke onto her lips, "You love me, huh?"
Roman relieved, smiled back at her. He pulled her in for another engulfing kiss. His hands trailing downward, he purred when he reached the hem of her dress. "Y'know" he whispered, "I'm sure the family wouldn't mind us being missing for a little longer. What do you think?"
She peered up at his face. His smirk and his eyes dancing with malevolence. "Hmm..." She smirked back, "I suppose your right".
Roman's hand slowly pulled down the straps of her dress and growled just above her lips, "Of course I am".
