Just reading your posts about Crush (or whatever it's called) is making me want to beat my head against a wall. It's so bad! How?! I rolled my eyes so hard I think I saw the back of my skull. No one would blame you if you rage quit, because that is ridiculously awful.

I’m just really stubborn, to be honest. There have been books I didn’t finish, but most of the time I’m a glutton for punishment, especially if I can make jokes about how bad everything is. Plus, truthfully, I love finding out how the stories end or where the weird-twists come from. Occasionally I get surprised by something actually fun or clever in an otherwise terrible book, but that’s kinda rare. 

I feel like it also helps me pick out tropes and things that I don’t want to use in my own writing. Sadly I’m pretty sure this isn’t the worst book I’ve read.

Dear @msfehrwight and @romancingthebookworm, if there is one essential decorative element to a romance reader’s book nook it must be this beautiful, wooden bookmark from The Ripped Bodice. If it was Christmastime I’d hang it in my tree, but for now it is beautifying my desk. The quote on the second bookmark explains why fiction was my saviour when I was growing up, and thus lends special poignancy to a tool I find indispensable. It will definitely accompany my reading of In Debt to the Earl by Elizabeth Rolls, a veteran romance author I look forward to familiarising myself with. Covers are my weakness, and the elegance of this one absolutely delights me.

The connection between the two is the Duke of Duncraigh, who is the villain as he is in books 1 and 2. And the couples from 1 and 2 make brief appearances.

Old villains always come in handy. Why bother creating a new one? XDDD

I guess he will be redeemed at some point?
