Most prized possession?
It’s a toss-up between his dogtags and his wedding ring. His wedding ring holds extreme sentimental value—he never takes it off. Besides, after seventeen years his finger has grown around the band. He couldn’t take it off even if he wanted to!
As for his dog tags, he has never taken them off since they were issued to him when he’d joined the military when he was seventeen. They’re a symbol of his life—that he’s a person, that he’s existed. And if someone found his body somewhere in the middle of nowhere, they’d be able to tell that that was Laguna Loire and that someone out there might be missing him. Wearing those tags for twenty-seven years makes them almost a part of him. He wouldn’t be himself if he didn’t wear them.
