Roman and Tom feels like it could work because Tom and Roman both have a talent for bullshitting and dealing with people that the other would respect. Additionally, Roman has a work ethic when he actually cares about something that I think Tom would respect. Plus all the psychosexual energy, omg. Unlike Greg, if Tom tried to play mind games with Roman, Roman would play them right back.

Also, Roman is the bottom to bottom for all bottoms and Tom has a huge dick and knows how to use it. Tom would screw the repression right out of Roman.

(Plus, both actors are phenomenal. And it would be hilarious for Roman and Greg to have yet another reason to hate each other).

But to answer it seriously, if I wanna take a look at this from the point where in this current universe Tomgreg and Romanmatsson exists, it would be interesting to play out a Tomroman angle after the events of S3.

Let us say Tom feels jilted by Greg's inattention when our favourite Gumby man goes off to his side adventure to somewhere like Macau to fix up theme parks and Roman is feeling adrift after the betrayal. The Roy child alliance is falling apart and Roman decides to go over to Tom to try to get a way to get back into his Dad's graces.

And it's these two emotionally keyed up people that have nowhere to turn to and fall into an affair. Now, I think it would be a very queer platonic affair with Tom taking care of Roman the way he wants to with Greg and Roman craving that affection that he wants to be directed at.

Like sure, it would be awkward, passive aggressive and a lot of reluctant affair, but between late night takeout from Michelin returns, foot massages by Tom and Roman greedily pushing against Tom to cuddle, there could be something there to heal with.

But then again, it is Succession, so Greg comes back and Matsson starts drawing Roman back into his orbit. Tom tries to fix and fix Roman, but it does not work and the affection becomes cloying at the point, he is a Roy after all. And when he realises Tom can do nothing for him in terms of getting into his father's graces, he decides to cut his losses.

(And it goes downhill faster with Greg's green-eyed monster. That man can betray anyone for the sake of coming to power and in a way, one of those powers is Tom's undivided attention on him. He is the movie star in Tom's blinding spotlight. I swear he would be one of the most jealous people anywhere. He knows how it feels to have his cousins take away everything and so he fights dirty for Tom's attention. Would probably send some info over to Logan to further humiliate Roman.)

(And Matsson would draw in Roman like a fly to a spider's trap.)

There's a part of me that would love to see Tom and Roman get a little tipsy together and just roast the absolute shit out of Shiv (but with love, of course, always with love, lmao).

I hate men but also I think it would be cathartic for Tom. A bit.
