Light on her feet, Parkivel found herself immensely thankful for her dexterity -- practically dancing across the ground as she wove through the crowd of masked festival-goers -- both human and non. If she were to falter right now, surely her pursuers would catch up and drag her straight back to Hell. She couldn't have that.
Lifting her own half-mask upward, she dared a look over her shoulder to check her distance advantage and instantly regretted. Her body collided with another. Sucking a sharp breath through parted lips, she caught her balance and looked at whoever had stopped her escape with wide, surprised eyes. Shoot--
Without time for an apology or greetings, Parker slipped behind them with a quick utterance of, "Excuse me a moment." Effectively using them as a shield that blocked her from view. Her pursuers then zipped past with startling speed and she waited a moment or two before loosing a tense breath. Had she finally given them the slip?
Double checking that the coast was clear, she stepped out from behind her savior and gave a half-lidded smile, tugging her mask back into place. "I thought they'd caught me there for a moment. You really saved my skin -- though it may have been a tad against your will." Her twin tails swayed lazily back and forth with the danger now gone and jewelry dangled from her curved horns. At least none of this would have been out of place here.
"How may I thank you for your unwitting cooperation? It's a festival, after all. Shall I treat you something from one of the vendors?"
