"Sir," the big man interrupted again, this time standing beside him so he could see him. "Your flowers..."

Sirius's eyes widened, but he managed to relax his expression relatively quickly, looking at the man as if he had no idea what he was talking about and shaking his head at the ruined bouquet of tulips.

"Those aren't my flowers."

"But—"

"I didn't have any flowers," he insisted, shrugging. "Those must be your flowers."

"These aren't my—"

"I'm sure your date will love them. Good night," he replied, quickly shifting position to leave the man behind him again and throw himself into Remus's arms, squeezing him in a warm, tight hug. "Remus! I'm so glad to see you."

Okay here's a little bit of the fic I'm doing for the @maraudersromcomfest 💞

Guests neither of them knew crowded around them, restricting their space, but they didn't need much either. They danced in their square, moving from one side to the other, without rush or pressure. Sirius danced like the well-taught boy he had been; Remus, like the one who learned with his mother in a small lounge.
