One of the things Ron demonstrates is that sometimes good, caring, capable people are overwhelmed by their insecurities (OR, IDK A DARK LORD'S SOUL) and it causes them do things they regret. I've come to relate to that aspect of him more and more as I've gotten older. The irony is that Ron-haters demonize him for a lot of the same reasons he himself feels inadequate, and therein completely miss the literary intentions. Anyway I'm really fired up rn about my love for Ronald Bilius Weasley.

i found a post in my archive a while ago that’s kinda like ‘it upsets me to realise that the way some of the fandom see ron is how he feared people seeing him; how he saw himself in his worst moments’ and honestly i’m just so sad this child deserves better

Idk if you're into ATLA at all, but Ron really reminds me of Sokka: both are the more comical ones of their main friend group and don't feel like they have any real skill/talent/value compared to their other friends. Sad ;(

2nd day home at the Burrow, b4 Fred's funeral, Ginny is being mad & Hermione's downstairs helping Fleur cook for the family. Ron's in his room moaping and Harry's in there brooding. But Harry starts talking, about what was in the Pensive and what he learned and what his fate was and his thoughts on the walk down to the Forest. Ron listens, never interrupting once b/c that's what best mates do. Harry finishes and is a huge mess of snot and tears and Ron's there to hug him. Ron never tells a soul.

Ron always being there for Harry and vice versa will always mean so much to me. They’re both terrible at emotions and feelings and stuff, but when it comes down to it they’re always willing to talk or listen to each other and I just- their friendship is so beautiful. Plus they’d both need time to recover after the war so I can totally imagine them secluded in Ron’s attic bedroom because they’re just so tired of everything.

Ron Weasley is my favorite tbh. People can have different types of intelligence and be equals. People can upset others and not be bad people. People can have insecurities and still be talented. People can get annoyed at others and love them anyway. People can be emotionally oblivious and still care for their friends. All kinds of people can be good people and good couples despite having flaws if they try to improve and help people they love. The End.
