Died Pretty - Out of the Unknown (1984)
Australian psych rockers DIed Pretty, more influenced by the Doors and VU, unlike most Aussie groups of the time. The combo of Frank Brunetti’s organ and Brett Myers on slide guitar really hits the spot.

EG All-star awards focus: Ron Peno!
Ron Peno is an Australian music legend!
Born on the NSW Central Coast, Ron went on to front many iconic rock bands within the Australian music scene. From 1976, Ron fronted his first band, early Sydney punk band The Hellcats before moving to Brisbane to form The 31st in 1979 and Screaming Tribesman in 1981. This was all before the frontman came alive in Died Pretty.
Ron joined Died Pretty in 1984 after forging a musical friendship with Brett Myers from The End, and together decided to create a new band.
Died Pretty released a number of records and toured tirelessly throughout the country and overseas until breaking up in early 2000. Thankfully for us, it was only a temporary break up and have rekindled their love for each other to continue touring and releasing records.
More recently, Ron Peno has embarked on a solo career under the moniker Ron S Pino and The Superstitions and managed to find time to play a gig with Died Pretty at the annual Cherry Rock festival.
Ron is one of EG's All-stars performing at this years EG Awards at the Prince Bandroom on November 23.
