I’m honestly disappointed with Voltron S2 for all of the squandered potential… However! I have hope for S3 due to our new plot threads given.

I can’t even look up the blogs I follow from my blog on this god forsaken app. If I didn’t hate the desktop website for it’s layout plus it’s inconvenience I’d switch.
To the surprise of no one, the Tumblr mobile app is a piece of shit
On another note, I cannot believe Voltron went full Gurren Lagann.
Actually, now that I think about it, I'm legitimately surprised that Keith being a Galra was swept under the rug so easily and it's honestly what sours the second half of the series for me (among other nitpicks). Besides Allura (and Hunk to an extent), we don't see ANYONE ELSE react much to the fact he's a Galra which could have been an amazing plot point of the show! I imagine that most of the crew would feel extremely betrayed that Keith was one (whether or not they know that he had no idea). It would be bad enough that maybe Voltron wouldn't be able to form which would give the final battle with Zarkon a lot more dramatic tension! I honestly thing that it was something that the final episode lacked. We've seen Allura's reaction to it but I feel like Coran would also feel somewhat betrayed by it as well. Coran rarely shows his feelings about the previous war with the Galras but deep inside I feel like he's even more hurt by it because he saw Zarkon get corrupted while being so close to Alfor... I feel like his hurt is very deep but he hides it with a happy face to try to even out tensions. Shiro would obviously be very betrayed because Keith lied to him the entire time about it. That would honestly damage their relationship and their trust A LOT. Shiro is already very traumatized by his time as a gladiator and is slowly being shown that Galras as a whole aren't totally evil but I feel this would damage his perception of them and Keith. Plus with his disappearance in the end, it would have a lot more impact because Shiro probably would have said a few last words of Keith to reaffirm him. It would make it a lot more meaningful in my eyes. Pidge would probably be suspicious. They are torn between their emotions/loyalty and their rational side. Their rational side would know that Keith knows nothing about being Galran or about how their society works. Yet, due to this not being confirmed completely, their emotional side would think that Keith COULD know something. Keith could have known all along and never helped them to find Matt or their father and just let them go on a blind goose chase. Hunk would be afraid. He's only ever really seen faceless and nameless grunts and fought them in battle. He's always been the suspicious and cautious type of new encounters for safety. It would alarm him to know that even when he *thought* he was safe that there was always an unknown danger lurking around the corner. But the biggest waste is that with LANCE. Lance got practically NO screen time this season and this would be the perfect time to show why he's the Blue Paladin. Lance has the largest disconnect with the Galra, he sees them in a similar light as Hunk. However, instead of feeling afraid of him like Hunk, it would humanize the Galra to Lance. Keith would still be the same type of person to him despite being a Galra. The Blue Paladin embodies friendliness and most of all ACCEPTANCE. The Blue Lion is the most accepting of all of the lions. Through this, Lance would be able to call everyone else out on their own prejudices against Keith and would be a lynchpin in getting the team ready to fight Zarkon successfully. (Plus it would give him screen time but I digress.) Most of all, this would isolate Keith and lead to more development for him. His greatest fear is being left alone, as shown during his trial with the Blade of Mamora. His isolation for something that he couldn't help. It'd help develop Lance and Keith's relationship to something past rivals and into more true friends and confidants. This is more of me nitpicking really. This season was more of a set up for Season 3 than anything in my mind. A lot of our plot threads have yet to be resolved and with the introduction of Prince Lotor, I can guarantee that it will improve the writing of Voltron as a whole. TL;DR: Missed opportunity for development is messed opportunity for development.
