❝ it doesn’t matter that they won’t remember me. what matters is i helped. ❞
SHE DOESN’T KNOW HIM . couldn’t know him . they had no time . at least , not now . not with RACCOON CITY in shambles ; not while she looks at him through a chain link fence , wondering what could be . but his WORDS carry a weight that claire cannot deny , his eyes burning with a hope she can see even through the downpour of rain . and that , right NOW , is enough . enough for her to smile , to believe him . “ god , you’re SUCH a cop . ” she means it in jest , trying for some levity despite their circumstances . “ but hey . . . just be careful when you’re doing the HERO thing , okay ? ” a pause . a beat of silence , a single MOMENT where the world was at a standstill .
THE SOUND OF APPROACHING undead tells them that the moment’s over . claire turns , eyes like DAGGERS as she regards the coming onslaught and her hand immediately finds her gun . she looks back to leon then , gaze alight ; a ferocity that’s almost CONTAGIOUS . a spark that could set the WHOLE city on fire . she doesn’t know him . couldn’t know him . they had no TIME . at least , not now . but she’ll FIGHT for that time . for what’s right . fight for tomorrow where maybe , just maybe , she’ll know leon kennedy . “ we’re gonna make it , ” she says it like a VOW . holds it tight . close to her heart . she takes hold of the fence with her free hand . “ i PROMISE . ”
DRAGON AGE . @rookcop
