“No, I get it,” Simon assured. Their weekly movie night had been a thing since they moved in together. He hadn’t thought letting Clary tag along for one night would be a big deal. Apparently he was wrong. “You don’t have to leave, Nico. We can all hang out, and we can do another movie night just you and me another night, okay?”

He wasn’t entirely sure if he believed Nico’s brush off. He laughed a little, shaking his head. “You don’t have to apologize. I mean, flattery will get you everywhere, man,” he mused, grinning softly at the other.

“I’ll notice. It’ll be all...quiet and lonely when I’m stuck at home during the day,” Simon pointed out, not quite pouting. Maybe Luke would let him crash at his place while Nico was gone..

“Because I miss eating. I’m still a new baby vampire, man. I still remember the joy of real food. So I like to walk around and look at all the things I can’t have anymore. It’s as torturous as it is wonderful,” Simon explained, peering up at Nico with what could only be described as sad puppy eyes.

Grace covered her face with her hands. “Oh no,” she said, laughing and shaking her head. “How was I supposed to say it, again?” she asked, peering back up at Nico.

Gracious giggled again, amused and endeared. “Well we wouldn’t want that. Should we turn the movie off entirely?” she asked.

“Definitely think I’m gonna adopt that way of thinking. It’ll make things way easier when I’m around Clary’s Shadowhunter friends anyway,” Simon said, giving a chuckle.
