“He was so romantic, I could not resist”
Rook is one of my favorite characters because he’s such a hopeless romantic at heart! And he doesn’t just admire beauty; he feels it, studies it, and pours his whole soul into it. When Neige realizes that the mysterious “R” who’s been sending him letters is actually Rook, he isn’t creeped out or dismissive. He’s genuinely touched, and he thanks Rook for supporting him and politely asks Rook to sign future letters with his real name. Neige validates Rook’s feelings without making him feel embarrassed and that’s why Rook's interaction with Neige in Book 5 means so much to me! This tiny little moment completely changes the tone between them for me.
In my headcanon, after that moment, I imagine Rook becoming bolder and more honest in his letters, but now writing as himself instead of a faceless admirer. And Neige, being the kind and emotionally perceptive person he is, would absolutely make time to write back. Their letters would slowly shift from fan and idol to something much more personal; more like two people learning each other’s hearts through words, admiration, and sincerity. Because Rook is the kind of guy who loves deeply and romantically, and if Neige truly is anything like Snow White he'd, you know, “could not resist,” and their relationship deepens one letter at a time.
