I just read ur room 18a and lie to me au and was highkey confused for a bit so i reread it and i just wanna ask though to make sure im getting it right, whenever y/n meets their soulmate do they purposely kill them so that they can be immortal? and then the reason why jihoon burned the house at the end was cuz his name was on their wrist and he didnt wanna die for the reader to live? (Also its so good and ur an amazing writer. I absolutely loved them 💖)

To answer your first question, yes ! the mc of those two pieces kill their soulmate so that they’ll continue not aging and therefore stay immortal.
And now for the second question, (this answer is a bit more complicated lol) so to really answer this question I feel like I need to explain a bit how this fic came to be. I wrote “Room 18A” last year, and just to make things clear “lie to me” I wrote a whole year later only a month or two ago. But back to room 18a, when I wrote that fic, I wrote in one sitting and had no clue what I was writing. So I think it’s a pretty confusing fic as well, just because my writing isn’t super clear. That piece was a flash fic, and by that I mean the entire world, the characters, and the plot came together on the spot. All that being said, there’s definitely a lot of ambiguity within the fic, and one of the things that are left unexplained is why Jihoon kills mc (which by that point in the fic, mc and Jihoon had become soulmates). And I leave his reasoning for burning down the house ambiguous because 1. I didn’t really know the reason myself/was just writing on instinct and 2. I think it makes the fic more fun that way, one that leaves readers thinking and speculating (or really confused, sorryyy)
I know that’s not really an answer, and probably not the one you were looking for but I hope that quells some of your confusion regardless.
