Bread Machine
My wife and I were given a bread machine. When we plugged it in, it still had the last bread program running in its memory. Unplugged it... Look through bread machine book. Book says that the bread machine can recover itself after a power failure (obviously some kind of memory chip), but it says nothing about how to abort a bread making session gone wrong... or a session that ended months ago. Book does say that you can contact the manufacturer in the rare cases you need the machine reset (so there is a reset!!). I spent 3 minutes poking buttons on the bread machine and uncovered the root menu! I was able to purge the last program, and reset the cache. End result: Bread machine works again. Wife is happy.
