This article is personally important to me. I’m asking all of my followers to read it. I said, when I first told the author of said article that I would post it, that I wasn’t going to mention my connection to him, but I changed my mind. There’s hardly such a thing as internet anonymity these days, anyway. The man who wrote this article is my father, David Willis, and he’s been working for more than a decade to help improve healthcare based on, largely, one thing:
Patient experience.
Anyone who’s had to visit multiple doctors to take care of themselves knows about the lack of communication between practices, the tendency for some doctors to make you feel okay with yourself while others treat you like just an open file of test results... there are more reasons why going to medical practices sucks, but this isn’t about that. Not really. It’s about the people who are working to find a solution, and then convince those medical practices that it’s worth it.
We’re the patients. We’re the ones who have those experiences. We’re the ones who give the doctors and practitioners their business. I think we can expect a patient experience that treats us like people.
