Oh, man. I just thought of a headcanon for your AU. You know how Sticks is so "government conspiracies and evil robots"? Well, what if Sticks had an ancestor that was like a village sage that was extremely wise and profound, until she tried to use her powers to unlock secrets of the future and all that information came at her at once and it just fried her brain. So now all her descendants have this deep rooted paranoia and anxiety, including Sticks-which explains why sticks is always right!! :'D

Actually,I wasn’t sure of making an ancestor for Sticks too,since I didn’t have enough material to work on…but yenrisan,man,your headcanon sounds GREAT! It gave me inspiration to start working on a possible design :> Here’s what I have so far:
Here’s Root the Badger (the Sage), Sticks’ ancestor.
Following your suggestion,I thought of her not exactly as one of the Ancients,for she prefers to live on her own,although she helps them whenever she can; she’s been close friends with Rose for a long time;Root travels a lot and has the desire to know anything about everything,so she can share stories to the ones who are willing to listen.
Also (thanks to the Sonic Boom episode “Sleeping Giant”),I thought it would be cool that she knew how to calm the Granifier Giganticus ,like Sticks could!
Root,after the exposure to the Primal Crystal.
Once she discovered about the incredible potential of this legendary gem,and the possibility to gain the power to know what seemed impossible to know,the events of the future,Root made the fatal mistake to try to harness that power…
For the first few seconds.
Again as you suggested, the exposure to the Primal Crystal made her lose sight in her right eye,fried most part of her brain(she could hardly remember things,acting weirder than usual,rambling “apparent” nonsense things to the others) and the inevitable Crystal Sickness.
That’s all I got right now,there probably will be more (the coloured version of these drawings too). I don’t think I’ll put her in the ask characters list,since she’s not..technically one of the ancients(ok I’ll think about it)…however,you can always ask Rose about her…
