Rosecelli finding the first pregnancy test and just 😀 and takes like 5 more to confirm it. When she realizes that it’s not a false positive, she quickly transitions into needing to find a way to tell Finnick, while also being completely freaked the fuck out
Finnick is ecstatic, LOVES the idea, and he’s more hands-on with the preparations. He writes to everyone he can think of (especially johanna) and Rosecelli is still not sitting right and she tells Finnick that she needs a breather
He realizes he was laying it on too thick, tells her to do what she needs to do, and she disappears ~not to the Capitol~ but home. Her childhood home might be burnt down, but she goes and visits the site anyway and kinda just,,, stares for a while
She remembers what it was like when her little sister was born, and begins to make a list of everything that she’d need. And then she takes the train to the Capitol bc the baby is going to have the Worlds Finest Shit even if they aren’t born yet
She gets a crib, and the basics, completely ignoring the looks she gets from the Capitol people. A week later, she’s going back to District Four, uses a car to get everything home. Finnick isn’t even in his house when she gets there
Unloads it all into the spare room upstairs (carrying the heavy ass boxes and all, up and down all by herself, clears out the bedroom) and gets to work with building everything without Finnick’s help.
When he comes back and realizes what she’s done, he’s a little conflicted on whether or not to be mad, but in the end, he’s just glad to have her back home.
Further along, rosecelli won’t let him help her AT ALL. She needs to do it all alone. They go to get an ultrasound and find out the gender. Finnick doesn’t care, but Rosecelli wants a fucking girl, and gets her wish to come true
They go shopping in District Four for most of the clothes, but Finnick eventually breaks and goes shopping w her in the Capitol.
Thruout, she’s kinda iffy on the idea of a baby still, but as soon as the girl starts kicking is when she finally develops the motherly protection. Ofc the baby has to be born at some point, and Rosecelli has experienced pain but not as bad as delivering the baby.
The first time Rosecelli holds the girl,,,, she genuinely cries and is so happy. And don’t even get me started on how angry she’d be like a week later because this baby does not shut the fuck up and I just want my beauty sleep
