1. it was my first day at work yesterday and the good news is, I'm still alive. 2. I love herring. I mean, as a food. it's freaking delicious. 3. I bought 4 inch heels this week, which is to say I went nuts because I can't even walk in them. but they look so damn good on me. 4. I'm really excited for Doctor Who tonight. I genuinely think Capaldi can save this show for us. I'm counting on ya, Peter. 5. it hit me yesterday that my student days are well and truly over, and I had to lie down for a little bit. growing up SUCKS.

hey girlie! long time no talk <3 how've you been?

so, basically, i wrote a fanfiction a few months ago based off the psychological experiments of this doctor called william sargant. after some war (i forget which, i think vietnam or korean) he wanted to figure out how the captive american soldiers were brainwashed. so he rented out a hospital and basically eternal sunshine for the spotless minded people. like, if they had a mental illness like depression or ptsd, he would use drugs and sock therapy and basically put them in comas for days on end until their minds broke down any associations with the illness, and then he tried to build new associations. basically, he would make people forget.

and i heard one case where a woman was in love with this guy, but her parents didn't like him. so she was depressed because they wouldn't allow her to see him anymore, and they sent her to this hospital so that sargant could break down any associations she had of her boyfriend, and then forget him. (of course, it turned out these people only forgot for a little while and then, after time, the mind reprogrammed itself again.)

but anyway, i thought that would be a good idea, so i wrote a merthur fic about it, and idk it kinda became more than just a fic about psychology???? it kind of turned into this thing about homosexuality (because during the era i set it in, homosexuality was still considered an illness). and i just think it's relevant for today's society, and i liked the story, so i've been wanting to rework it into a screenplay. but idk if i want to do that for a group project. just because the story itself is special to me. but at the same time, i want to impress my teacher haha. and this would be a perfect excuse to rework it.
