To Forestheart

My Forestheart, would you take me through the trees? Let me see the greens and browns, white streaks filtering through Show me the blooms that mark secret paths Will you take me to the stream that whispers forgotten stories? Rest with me on the cool moss-covered stones When reds and golds arise, will we be adorned in the same? Amber crunching neath our feet is the rhythm we dance to The hint of chill pushes us close together Will you lead me to the jewel-berries that taste like laughter? Lay with me in the center of the well-hidden glade The softest White I’ll ever meet, do you know you will be so? Breath fog swirls, dances, becomes one, disappears Meticulously brushed clouds adorn soft blue Can we follow tracks to a den of sleeping foxes? Like fluttering petals, snow will kiss your lips, and so will I nuvoleabianche​

An Anywhere

The treetops rustle songs to greet us, or perhaps they’re shrubs The waves crash against the rocks to welcome home, or maybe it’s the tide A breathy gale dances the long grass to invite us, or it could be a breeze A waterfall roars to tell us to fly, or it might be a a stream against rocks Wherever we go, whatever wonder waits to meet us, It is an anywhere, a haven is when I’m with you

Rest

A wide smile and a goodnight caress The droplets on the window will sing you to sleep, love Inhale and exhale My lungs are bigger than yours The timing is difficult, but I can do it Unaware, unlaboured breath you send against my lips How I wish it was more than air. The blanket waves lap at your cheek, I don’t dare pull it aside I’ll keep watch on the shores of the sheets till sunstreaks come, Then I shall dream enough for the both of us

A Shared Glance

The silence is beautified in earthen pools, A soft song wells up, but gets caught. Music of abreast breath is song enough. A photograph occurs A moment of stillness for the words unsaid, please. A smile for the fact that it doesn’t need to be. Action and inaction are at a standstill But here I stand By your side Forever.

Pain

My hands aren’t from pulling you from the edge, They only ache to embrace yours My arms don’t hurt from slowing the blows, They only burn to be filled with you My back doesn’t hurt from carrying you, It is only weary without your heart pressed against it My feet aren’t tired from standing your ground, They only throb to run to your side My lips aren’t parched from calling your name, They merely thirst to be pressed to your cheek My eyes don’t sting from searching for you, They simply seek to be resting upon yours My heart doesn’t tire from beating for yours, It dances for joy at the sound of you name.

Every drop coalesces into the azure pool I’ve fallen into Tears. Of what nature, I know not. From the clouds, from her eyes? The wind is knocked out of me the moment I leave the world of air. But of these waters, I will drink deeply I will not drown. There is a whole world here, where up and down is confused, Light that filters through scatters on my face, it shows me something. What? Is it a reflection? Perhaps an afterimage? Maybe her image. I reach for whatever, but stop myself just before my fingers reach it To behold it is enough for now. To learn what is and truth, to stay floating here, I will be satisfied To see the beauty in this world.
