He is pressured to give an answer, but not because he is intimidated by Atsushi's intense glare,no, of course not, he is an adult and he is more than responsible for his hygiene habits, thank you very much. However he was absolutely not prepared for the words that would come out of Atsushi's mouth.

(In which Akutagawa has too many insecurities, Chuuya is a mumma's boy and Atsushi asks Akutagawa to get naked sooner than anybody thought)

Chapter 5: October 1950 - The same way you can't write forest without trees you cannot write love without heart.

It's a simple word game people usually use to teach this part of  kanji and it is silly and sort of funny the first time you hear about. He did laugh the first time he saw it, long time ago, when he was still a kid, learning how to even hold a brush properly, guided by an unusual gentle voice that said the same phrase Chuuya is now saying to Atsushi.

“Yes well after all, you can't make a forest without trees!”

Chapter 4: October 1950 - Literary stray dog

“What?”

“I'm asking you if you want to try and find a meaning in your storytelling? I can't give you the answers though, that would be too easy. However, maybe a change of scenario would do you some good!”

(In wich Dazai was, is and will be an asshole (it’s not a surprise), Chuuya is caring (mom) senpai, Atsushi gains some confidence, Akutagawa makes discoveries and finally the maing pairing of this fic has an interaction that lasts more than 3 lines.)

“I'M SO SORRY!!”

Deja vu again. Like this morning the only thing he can do is close the door, blush like a tomato, curl into a ball and wish the earth could swallow him whole.

“Kunikida-kun really, I have not time for this! I really came here with somebody and I'm afraid he... Atsushi-kun?”

Dazai finds him in that sorry state and so does the man behind him, both looking confused at him and the situation.

“Dazai-san”

“Yes Atsushi-kun?”

“I think I should learn to knock before opening doors”

(In which this town is really gay, Atsushi sould learn to knock on the door, Dazai is an irresponsible adult and Akutagawa really should stop closing the doors like that)
